Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026 · Version 2.0
Please read these terms carefully before using GeoMark. By creating an account or continuing to use the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GeoMark ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users including students, instructors, and administrators.
Eligibility
GeoMark is intended for use by educational institutions and their members. To register, students must provide a valid matric number in the prescribed format. Instructors must possess a valid access code provided by their institution's administrator. You must be at least 16 years of age to use this service.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your password, access codes, or session tokens with any other person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify your institution administrator immediately.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) attempt to bypass or manipulate the attendance verification system, including GPS spoofing, QR code sharing, or device impersonation; (b) use the platform to submit false attendance records; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with any part of the platform; (d) introduce malware, scripts, or other harmful code; (e) attempt to access data belonging to other users or institutions.
Attendance Data Accuracy
GeoMark is a verification tool to assist institutions in managing attendance. While we take every reasonable step to ensure accuracy, the Platform is not infallible. Institutions retain final authority over attendance decisions. Users who believe an attendance record is incorrect should raise the matter with their instructor or administrator.
AI-Assisted Flagging
The Platform uses AI anomaly detection to flag suspicious patterns. A flagged record does not constitute a finding of misconduct — it is an alert for human review. Institutions are responsible for their own disciplinary policies and processes arising from flagged records.
Intellectual Property
All software, design, content, and technology comprising GeoMark are owned by GeoMark and its founders. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without express written permission.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform. We may perform maintenance, updates, or emergency interventions that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for attendance-related consequences arising from Platform downtime.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoMark and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for the Platform in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to GeoMark at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms of Service. Your institution may also revoke access independently of us.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting an announcement on the Platform. Your continued use of GeoMark following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
